Foster Grandparent Ad
Transcription: The Appalachian Foster Grandparent Program, supported by Americorps Seniors, High Country United Way, and the United Way of Wilkes, is in need of volunteers in our five service counties of Ashe, Avery, Alleghany, Watauga, and Wilkes. The need is especially great for Avery and Watauga. Volunteers will be paired with a child in need of guidance and will work alongside them to improve their social, emotional, academic, and life skills. Eligible volunteers will be paid a small stipend and may also receive meal and travel reimbursement. Senior Companion Ad
Transcription: The Appalachian Senior Companion Program, supported by Americorps Seniors, High Country United Way, and the United Way of Wilkes, is in need of volunteers in our five service counties of Ashe, Avery, Alleghany, Watauga, and Wilkes. The need is especially great for Avery and Watauga. Volunteers will be paired with an elder in their area in need of friendship and assistance to maintain the activities of daily living in order to remain in their own home. Eligible volunteers will be paid a stipend and may also receive a meal and travel reimbursement.
